Welcome to Arzanah

"Nothing could delight me more than to see a woman taking up her distinctive position in society...  nothing should hinder her progress.   Like men, women deserve the right to occupy high positions according to their capabilities and qualification."

Late President Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan

Few words serve as appropriate an introduction as the words of our beloved Father himself, for my welcoming statement is best understood as "nothing should hinder her progress". Arzanah, a standalone facility, is dedicated to the identification, development, and enhancement of women engineers and their professional advancement in global society. Our responsibility – indeed our privilege – resides within the attainment of certification; the recognition of the highest qualification;  the achievement of women's professional, as well as societal aspirations; and the acceptance of social responsibility and the accountability for one's own decisions.  My words of welcome include the pledge to inspire lifelong learning;  to foster each individual's unique leadership skills;  to encourage meaningful and selfless civic involvement, and to nurture the ability to engage applied sciences and the engineering professions with passion and the deep commitment our late president expected of you. Welcome, I say, to the halls of learning at Arzanah; may we be the birthplace of your professional dreams!

In particular, I wish to assure you that the Arzanah is irrevocably committed to...
  • Provide opportunities that focus on academic involvement,  individual and collective research;  and continuous learning;
  • Encourage participation in extra-curricular activities that emphasize balanced learning experiences, leadership, and collaboration;
  • Expose students to acknowledged and inspiring individuals to act as role models and demonstrate women's ability to actively involve themselves in the workplace and in the greater world at large;
  • Advocate, support, and sustain student involvement in community-related service and programs of significant global outreach;
  • Promote sustainable practice and ethical conduct in every phase of each other's lives;  and
  • Engage in professional endeavors that highlight, nurture, and enhance each woman's contribution to the field of applied science in general and engineering in particular.

At Arzanah, we balance modern curricula and state-of-the-art facilities with sustained support for cultural tradition and the glories of Emirati heritage.  We believe that our community is at once unique and universal.   Come, live the Arzanah Experience...  see women, young and old, preparing to take up their "distinctive positions in society."
