Chairman’s Message
On behalf of our faculty and staff, I welcome you to the Petroleum Institute Department of Chemical Engineering. Thank you for your interest in our program.
The Department of Chemical Engineering, one of The Petroleum Institute’s five keystone programs, provides a unique opportunity for young men and women to develop the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a rewarding and productive career in the chemical industries. The Petroleum Institute seeks to develop engineers with the complete range of skills required to work and live effectively in the multicultural environment that pervades today’s global community. The specific goals of the program are to,
- Develop strong technical skills, sound knowledge, and the highest level of competencies necessary to work effectively in the global engineering community,
- Ascribe to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental awareness,
- Build communication skills to communicate effectively in both engineering circles and the international business community,
- Strengthen collaborative working skills required to solve important engineering problems,
- Provide opportunities to develop critical leadership skills required to effectively lead engineering project teams,
- Address key issues concerning engineering ethics and
- Afford opportunities for young adults to strengthen their social skills through extracurricular activities.
Our students can look forward to a rewarding education in the Department of Chemical Engineering. We strive to produce professionals who can apply the broad range of engineering, team work and social skills necessary to excel in our rapidly evolving global environment. In addition to providing the skills required for the first few years after graduation, the program provides a sound technical background that engineering professionals can apply along their pathway to life-long learning.
The Department of Chemical Engineering is particularly proud of our highly qualified faculty and staff, who have a wide-range of experience in academia and industry and diverse cultural backgrounds. With the key combination of excellent faculty, highly trained staff and state-of-the-art facilities, the program delivers a modern curriculum that is accredited and well recognized. Our current students are dedicated individuals who are engaged in the classroom and are poised to be tomorrow’s leaders in ADNOC and other companies.
