PROFILE

I am visiting the PI for the 08/09 academic year from the University of Maryland, College Park, where I am working towards a PhD in soft condensed matter physics under Dr. Mikhail Anisimov (also visiting the PI for 08/09). My current research focuses on trying to understand the novel behavior of supercooled water in terms of fluid polyamorphism i.e. liquid-liquid phase transitions. I received my B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound in 2004, and began my studies at UMD in 2005. My activities at the PI include teaching (CHEG 322), grading (CHEG 522), research, and assisting in the creation of a new dynamic light scattering facility.
