PROFILE

Dr. H. L. Lim has Bachelor (English Language, Literature) and Master (English Language) degrees, a post-graduate Diploma in Education from The National University of Singapore, and a PhD (Information Technology) from Murdoch University (Perth, Western Australia).

Dr. Lim began her tertiary teaching experience at Singapore Polytechnic (1998-2000) where she taught technical writing and communication skills modules to diploma-level students from the schools of engineering, architecture, business administration and nautical studies.

From 2001–2003, Dr. Lim was a lecturer at the National University of Singapore. She taught technical and business communication modules to engineering and computer science undergraduates from, respectively, the Faculty of Engineering and School of Computing. At the National University of Singapore, she specialized in the teaching of software documentation and manual writing.

Her areas of research interest are educational technology, computer-mediated communication, and distance learning.
