EXPERIENCE
| 2005 to now |
Assistant Professor of Chemistry, College of Arts & Sciences, Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi |
| |
Before joining the PI, Dr. Vukušić worked for two years at Al-Jubail Industrial College, Saudi Arabia, setting up the country’s first degree program in Polymer Technology and providing short courses for industry. Prior to that he worked for a number of years as a Development Scientist for Smith and Nephew Extruded Films leading a couple of high-profile multi-million dollar projects and for Akzo Nobel. He has also worked as a Research Associate at the University of Leicester, U.K. |

PROFILE
Dr. Sulafudin Vukušić holds a B.Sc.(Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Sussex and a M.Sc. in Polymer Science and Technology from the University of Manchester, both in the UK. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds in Polymer Science and Technology also in the U.K. Additionally, he holds a P.G.C.E. (post-graduate degree in education) from Kingston University, U.K.
In his first three years at the Petroleum Institute (PI) in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Vukušić has been pro-active in developing and teaching elective polymer curricula and courses leading to a polymer track in both chemical and mechanical engineering and additionally developing research collaboration within the PI and internationally. In January 2008 Dr. Vukušić was awarded the PI Junior Faculty Teaching Award. Before joining the PI, he worked for two years at Al-Jubail Industrial College, Saudi Arabia, setting up the country’s first degree program in Polymer Technology and providing short courses for industry.
