PROFILE
Dr. Yves Gunaltun had PhD and MS degrees from Institute National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG) / France. He is with Total since 1982 and currently seconded at PI as Total Chair Professor. He provides also technical assistance, as corrosion expert, to some Total operations in the UAE. He had several international assignments. He was seconded at ZADCO (UAE) from mid 1987 to end of 1992, QATARGAS (Houston) from early 1993 to mid 1994 for a LNG project and PTTEP (Thailand) from mid-2006 to mid-2010 for their projects and operations worldwide and R&D activities. During his secondment in Thailand he provided also technical assistance to Total operations in the south East Asia. For the remaining time he was based in Paris in the Technology Division of Total providing technical assistance to development projects and operations worldwide. He was also in charge of some R&D projects in USA and Europe. He delivered intensive corrosion courses and lectures in several universities and petroleum institutes in France, USA, Indonesia, Thailand, and Turkey. He is recipient of the NACE Fellow Honour Award 2010, Total Innovation Award 2008, Ascoatindo Coating Industrial Application Award 2007, Total Communication Award 1999, Total Audacity Award 1998, Total Innovation Award 1994. He made more than 50 publication and conference presentations. He is member of NACE, European Federation of Corrosion, French Corrosion Association and Turkish Corrosion Association.
