Research Interests
L1 interference in L2 orthography. The relationship between phonologocal factors of the mother tongue and their impact on second language pronunciation is well researched. Not so well investigated however, is how these are transferred into writen text and in what way. From his current work in communications, he is interested in exploring the idea of core concepts in learning in the context of engineering and The Petroleum Institute. He has been working with his students on the notion of ‘crossover’ concepts i.e. transferable base concepts which we find in different learning (subject) environments. |
