PI EE Department secures research contract with Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. (GASCO) - May 03, 2010

The EE Department signed a research contract with GASCO related to the condition monitoring and insulation ageing of power cables. The scope of the project includes asset management, condition monitoring and detection of insulation ageing in underground medium voltage power cables, and aims at improving the reliability of distribution cable systems. The introduction of new condition monitoring techniques and asset management strategies will be studied with the aim of reducing the failure rate of power and control cables.
