Ahmed Shehada
Fellowship Graduate Reasearch Assistant
The Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.
- B.Eng. - Electrical Engineering (2003), McGill University, Montreal, Canada
I currently work at The Petroleum Institute, where I do part-time research, teaching assistance, and other departmental tasks. My research interests include power quality and multi-level power electronic inverters.
Born in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., I completed my primary and secondary school studies in Islamia English School, where I obtained the Ordinary and Advanced Level G.C.E. certificate, Oxford British Curriculum, in 1999. I then moved to Canada, where I obtained a B.Eng. in Electrical Egineering (2003) from McGill University, then took on the role of IT System Administrator in the same university for almost 4 years. In 2007 I moved back to the U.A.E. where I joined the newly launched Graduate Fellowship program at The Petroleum Institute in the Fall of that year.
Education plays a major role in shaping the youth and hence the society, and so is a very delicate and important task that educators take upon themselves. The motivation to contribute in this crucial process is what drives me to be in Academia.
