Welcome to AUP Mathematics & Computing
The Advanced University Placement department serves students whose educational background involves English as a foreign language. The mathematics and computing unit is determined to properly prepare students for the rigors of university education.
Students are placed in courses according to their needs, from basic algebra through international AP courses. Success in an AP course gives freshman year credit. All courses orient students in notation, problem solving, study skills, individual and team work efforts with calculator and computer skills. Courses offered are continually reassessed and modified in collaboration with the engineering programs so that students are equipped with material relevant to their further studies.
Mathematics is indispensable in the basic sciences. The mathematics and computing faculty have a diverse background which makes us natural inter-disciplinary collaborators.
Student progress is assessed regularly via examinations, regular quizzes, tests, projects and homework revision assignments.
