What is Information Literacy?
Information Literacy is a branch of Library Science dedicated to teaching students of all levels practical skills for effectively using electronic and print information resources. The goal of Information Literacy is to transform students into independent life-long learners, and to give them skills for critically evaluating information.
How to Find Materials in the Library
Half of Information Literacy is being able to locate information. In a library, once you have a call number for an item, you then have to physically find and retrieve that item off of the shelves. To do this you need to understand both how the library is arranged and the basics of call numbers. Please CLICK HERE for more information.

Citations & Plagiarism
Part of Information Literacy is not only being able to find and analyze information, but also to give credit to those who produced the information. If you use someone else's ideas or work with out giving them credit (without citing them), you run the risk of plagiarism. To find out more about citations and plagiarism, please CLICK HERE.
