Ebru Gunister graduated with Physics Engineering and Ph.D. degrees from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) in 2008. Her Ph.D. thesis title was “Synthesis and characterization of biopolymer/clay nanocomposites”. Dr. Gunister first joined the Petroleum Institute (PI) in 2008 as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor position in 2010.  Her current research activities are in the areas of advanced polymeric composites and mechanical properties of polymer-clay nanocomposites.

  This project is focused on the development of mechanical properties of PE using clays and organoclays as additives.
