  • Ph.D. Cornell University, 1975

An expert in energy conversion, heat transfer and fluid flow, he is an internationally recognized authority for his work in the solar energy-driven power which won him and his team at Cummins the prestigious R&D 100 award. Dr. Kubo worked for five years as an assistant manager at Komatsu Ltd (Japan), and 17 years at Cummins Engine (USA), including seven years as director at Cummins Power Generation, Inc. He also worked for Kombassan Holding (Turkey) as the general manager for its R&D center. In 2001 he joined McNeese State University (MSU) in the U.S. as an associate professor before joining the PI. Dr. Kubo holds an MBA degree from Indiana University, in addition to his Ph.D. from Cornell University, and has extensive experience in product development and technology transfer.
