2011-01-14: PI faculty visits the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden.

Faculty from the Mechanical Engineering Department at PI, Dr. Imad Barsoum and Dr. Abdennour Seibi, visited the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden. KTH is the largest technical university in Sweden and one of the top universities in northern Europe. The objective of the visit was to have initiative talks about future academic and scholarly collaborations between PI and KTH. Two departments were visited at KTH, Department of Solid Mechanics and Department of Lightweight Structures. The initial plan is to have visiting graduate students from KTH working at PI on research projects related to the oil and gas industry supervised by PI faculty. KTH was very positive to the visit by the PI faculty and to the proposed initial plan. They are looking forward for a similar visit to PI in the near future.
