Dr. Ghosh holds a M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Petroleum Chemistry. He has over 22 years of experience in the oil industry operations, research, consulting and teaching.
First 10 years of his career was with Indian multinational oil company (ONGC), managing field operations related to drilling, production, waterflood, well stimulations and setting up various testing and quality assurance laboratories. Subsequent 10 years was devoted to subsurface R&D, consultancy and establishing an international standard, ISO certified production research laboratory. During this period he has completed 40 industrial projects, published 7 papers and acquired 2 patent rights. He also conducted several short courses for trainee engineers.
Dr. Ghosh was associated with 3 of his country’s premier petroleum institute, as research advisor and visiting faculty. He served SPE, Bombay chapter actively and also organized 3 international seminars during this period.
Prior to joining PI, Dr. Ghosh was working at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) as full time Project Consultant. He established Petroleum Research Centre at SQU. His contribution on water & gas shut off and formation damage mitigation studies has resulted huge cost saving and production enhancement. He served SPE Muscat chapter as invited speaker and steering committee member for SPE “Water & Gas control” workshop 2006 at Muscat.
