Profile
Mr. Khalid Javaid is a Graduate Research/Teaching Assistant at The Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi since January 2011. He is involved in research work for the PI-funded project “Wettability alteration and increased production in carbonate reservoir through surfactant-alkali flooding Enhanced Oil Recovery Process”, EEOR/EOR/IOR, Electrokinetics (EK) applications in Petroleum Engineering, Electrically enhanced Oil Recovery (EEOR).
Mr. Khalid graduated from University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore in 2008 in Petroleum & Gas Engineering. His final year project was “PROBLEMS DURING DRILLING IN POWTAR REGION”. Problems discussed included abnormally high formation pressure, lost circulation, pipe sticking, shale problems, salt section hole enlargement and hydrogen sulfide problems and their remedies.
Later he started MSc (Part Time) in the same institute with majors in Petroleum Engineering and has completed his coursework there before joining PI. He later worked with Government Holdings (Private) Limited for one year.
During the last 2 years he has worked on various software like PETREL, PVTi, PIPESIM, CASING SEAT, STRESS CHECK
