Before he joined The Petroleum Institute in January 2010, Dr. Rahman worked as a faculty in the University of Adelaide Australia, and University of UAE for eight years. He has been teaching drilling engineering, well completion and workover, well testing, production engineering and well stimulation at undergraduate and graduate levels since 2002.
He worked as a geothermal engineer in a geothermal institute and geothermal company during 1994-97 in New Zealand. He also worked for about five years (1985-90) as an engineer in a petroleum company (Ex-Shell company) in Bangladesh and was responsible for drilling and production-operation of oil and gas-condensate wells.
Dr. Rahman co-authored several journal papers, conference papers and industry reports (please see Resume for publication record). He also presented several papers/research findings at SPE conferences/applied technology workshops and technical sessions.
He is a member of SPE and serves as a reviewer for several journals.
