PG's Computer Laboratory

Introduction

Our objective is to provide up to date technologies and Geological and Geophysical Software (G&G SW) to support PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCES courses and research.
Our main users include students, faculty and staff. The Computer Lab is also used at times by Software companies, with which we have agreements, to give training or carry out workshops on specific topics.

Hardware resources

Geosciences computer labWe have (1) dual processor, 6GB RAM Linux server; (1) Windows Software License Server, 21 dual processor, 2 GB RAM Workstations with dual LCDs; all connected via the PI intranet. These WS are dual-boot supporting Windows and Linux OS. A 42" plotter, an A3 Color and a B&W printers are available. We also have a 3D visualization system which allows for interactive visualization of the reservoir.  [see full diagram]

Software resources

Roxar training in Computer LabAs an Academic Institution we can obtain the best software in the market as an Academic Grant or at a discounted price. For example, in our Geological and Geophysical (G&G) Software portfolio we have Landmark software including: GeoGraphix for geological interpretation, SeisVision for geophysical interpretation, ProMAX for seismic processing and GeoProbe for 3D visualization and interpretation; Roxar RMS for reservoir modeling; Surfer for mapping; PrizM for Log Analysis, and many more.
