Rock and Mineral Collection
Laboratory exercises using the Petroleum Geosciences Program’s extensive mineral and rock collections provide students with hands-on opportunities to learn the fundamentals of petrology and mineralogy by handling and observing mineral and rock samples. The samples are from locations all over the world, including a growing number collected in the UAE and surrounding countries. Samples are available as hand specimens, thin sections and special teaching examples.
The collection is continually growing, especially due to the research activities of the Program’s professors.
