Professional:

Before joining the PI, Dr Basu was working as a project trainee in the seismic processing R&D group of CDAC (Centre for Development of Advance Computing, Govt. of India), India. In CDAC, she was involved in the development of a 3D migration module for a new seismic processing software named “Waves” built inhouse by CDAC.

Her Ph.D. thesis was on “Seismic Response of a Viscoelastic Layer” which dealt with the generation of synthetic seismograms simulating AVO situation in a viscoelastic porous layer and characterization of different fluids in it.   

The current research project is focused on passive microseismic monitoring of reservoirs for enhanced hydrocarbon production.
