Experience:

2004 - present Assistant Professor Carbonate Sedimentology
2002 - 2004 Carbonate Reservoir Geologist, Seconded to Emirates Link ResLab LLC
2000 - 2002 Carbonate Reservoir Geologist, Badley Ashton and Associates Ltd.

Professional:

  • Carbonate sedimentologist-stratigrapher, experienced in core, well log, outcrop, and sequence stratigraphic analysis of carbonate depositional environments.A wide range of experience in the description, characterisation and interpretation of the major petroleum producing reservoirs of the Middle East – particularly those of the UAE and Oman.Experience in a wide range of carbonate and mixed carbonate-evaporite sequences deposited in a variety of sub-tropical and equatorial settings under a range of energy conditions.
  • Development and presentation of classroom and field based industry courses in various area of carbonate sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy.

Main Research Interest:

  • Carbonate sedimentation and sequence development in mixed siliciclastic – carbonate depositional settings. Modern analogues to mixed carbonate – evaporite depositional systems and their application to the petroleum system. An integrated multi-scale analysis of contemporaneous outcrop analogues to the petroleum systems of the United Arab Emirates.
  • Biotic responses to elevated siliciclastic influx in carbonate depositional systems.
