Sreelaxmi helps in teaching several laboratory and field sessions for the PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCES programme. She also assists the educational and research activities of the program by providing other laboratory support, including the manufacture of petrographic sections; managing materials and equipment for classes; installing and maintaining laboratory equipment; receiving and cataloguing samples and equipment.
Before coming to The Petroleum Institute in April 2006, Sreelaxmi was doing her masters in Applied Geology from the Pondicherry University, India. Her research area was mainly focused on the Sedimentological and Geochemical Characteristics of Sediments from the Ganga River and its Tributaries in Northern India. Beside this she also did a research on Gas Hydrates in Northern Indian Ocean from the National Institute of Oceanography.
