GSS Technical Tour to ADCO

The Geosciences Student Society
(G.S.S.) visited ADCO's Exploration Department on the
10th of April. The purpose of the visit was to learn
more about jobs and the working environment in the oil
industry. Seventeen students from different majors at
the PI joined the tour. The tour started with an
overview of Exploration and Geophysics (E&G) activities
and a brief talk on the exploration history in Abu
Dhabi. Seismic Acquisition & Processing was shown after
that. The tour concluded with a visit to the virtual
reality Centre (Majlis) used in seismic interpretation.
The Majlis is a place where geoscientists meet and
discuss issues by having a closer look at the reservoir
using very powerful software. Special thanks to both Mr.
A. Khouri and Mr. Mussabeh AL Kaabi for helping us
organize the tour and for their support for the students
at the PI.
