VISION and MISSION of PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCES
The Petroleum Institute was established by The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and international corporate partners Shell, British Petroleum, Total, and Japan Oil Development Company (JODCO). The Petroleum Institute has as its primary goal the education of UAE Nationals to meet a critical need for highly qualified geoscience and other engineering B.Sc. graduates to manage Abu Dhabi Emirate’s petroleum resources.
Vision
The PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCES Program at The Petroleum Institute will be an internationally recognized center of excellence in education and research in petroleum geology and geophysics, and will be the leading university center of petroleum geoscience education, continuing education, and research in the Middle East. The Petroleum Geosciences Program will provide high-quality education in geology and geophysics to prepare students for successful and socially and ethically responsible professional careers and to fill the geological and geophysical education needs of the ADNOC Group of Companies and the UAE petroleum industry.
Educational Mission
The mission of the PETROLEUM GEOSCIENCES Program at The Petroleum Institute is to provide a high-quality education in petroleum geology and geophysics and to produce graduates for successful and socially and ethically responsible careers in the petroleum industry that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of ADNOC and other industry sponsors.
