Admissions Procedure

Admissions period for Fall and Spring semesters is open in June and December respectively. Advertisements are publicized in the local media prior to and during the admission period.

STEP 1	Meeting the Requirements Before you apply with the Petroleum Institute, please ensure you meet the minimum requirements. Only applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
STEP 2	Applying through the online portal The candidate should create an account and register through the online Admissions Portal. The candidate must fill in all details mentioned in the application form. Once the form is filled and submitted, a reference number is generated with an option to print the application form.
STEP 3	Compiling the Documents With a copy of the duly filled and printed application form, the documents should be compiled as mentioned in the required documents. Please note that any application with incomplete documentation will not be considered.
STEP 4	Submitting the application The application form with the required documents can be submitted by visiting the PI Admissions Office. The Admissions counter will only accept applications from 08:00 am – 12:00 pm (Sun – Thu) during the admission period. PI Admissions Office is located in Habshan Building at the Petroleum Institute Campus in Sas Al Nakhl, next to Sas Al Nakhl Refinery, Abu Dhabi, UAE. Upon verification of documents the applicants will be acknowledged accordingly with the reference number. STEP 5	Waiting for evaluation PI is primarily reserved for UAE nationals, however highly qualified non-UAE nationals are admitted on a case-by-case basis. Acceptance of applicants is based on academic merit and evaluation through a highly selective admission process. Please note that the candidate reference number will be used in all communications.
STEP 6	Confirming the acceptance Please check your account in the online portal for any update on the status of your application. Accepted candidates will be sent an SMS (UAE mobile numbers only) followed by a phone call. Instructions to complete the final procedures before intake and information on placement exams will then be given.

The Governing Board reserves the right to change the minimum admission requirements from published admission requirements. In such cases, changes in admission policy will be publicized accordingly.
