FIRE SAFETY MEASURES
The PI employs a range of fire safety procedures and warning equipments to ensure a safe campus for its students and staff. All the PI Hostel buildings are equipped to face any occurrence of accidents caused by fire.
Every hostel building has a comprehensive fire alarm system. Every apartment of the six hostel buildings is equipped with fire extinguishers and detectors that sound alarm for smoke and fumes. At present, four of the buildings have a fully integrated fire alarm system. The remaining two buildings will soon be converted from the present battery operated system to the fully integrated system.
Every hostel building has fire pumps installed, which are connected to hose reels that are placed in central locations within the building. Doors and interior walls in the buildings are fire rated to comply with the requirements of the Civil Defense Authority of the UAE.
The fire alarm system and the related equipments are inspected on a regular basis to ensure their proper functioning.
