29/Jun/09: International recognition of research work done at the PI and funded by ADNOC Research & Development Oil Sub-committee.

European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE) invited PI research group led by Prof. Karl Berteussen to participate in the EAGE Distinguished Lecturer Programme (DLP) for 2009. The basis of the invitation is in a recognition of a paper titled “A Low Frequency, Passive Seismic Experiment over a Carbonate Reservoir in Abu Dhabi – Wavefront and Particle Motion Study” by Karl A. Berteussen, Mohammed Y. Ali, James Small and Braham Barkat presented at last year’s EAGE conference. The paper was well received and considered as one of the best EAGE 2008.

Distinguished Lecturer Programme (DLP) consists of a list of selected distinguished lecturers who can be requested exclusively by EAGE's Associated Societies and Local Chapters. The programme is offered to all Associated Societies and Local Chapters of EAGE as a standard service, organized in the framework of "exchange of knowledge", one of EAGE’s main missions.

This invitation represents a significant international recognition of the work done at The Petroleum Institute and funded by ADNOC Research & Development Oil Sub-committee. To find more information about the research project please contact either Dr. Mohammed Ali (The principal Investigator of the project) or Prof. Karl Berteussen.
