26/Sep/2011: PI Petroleum Engineering students Miss Sara Bakhti and Miss Mais Suleiman and Mr. Mohamed Tariq placed Second and Third among 60 other students in the 2011 SPE Regional Education Week held in Manama, Bahrain.
Miss Sara Bakhti and Miss Mais Suleiman, undergraduate students from Petroleum Engineering Department of the PI, have earned the second position for their topic “HSE: Managing the Risks related to Oil and Gas Industry”. Also, Mr. Mohamed Tariq, undergraduate students from Petroleum Engineering Department of the PI, has earned the third position for his topic “Role of Technology in Oil & Gas Industry in the Middle East”.
60 students participated in the 2011 SPE Education Week that was held in conjunction with MEOS 2011 in Manama, Bahrain. The students presented their topic within their teams and infront of judges from different Oil Companies (ExxonMobil, Shell, Schlumberger, Saudi-Aramco) and The Petroleum Institute. Dr. Ghada Bassioni, Chemical Engineering Professor, was the representative judge from the PI.
Along with the competition, SPE organized field trips to Dar Al-Naft, Tree of life, Bapco (Bahrain Petroleum Company), and the MEOS opening ceremony and Exhibition.
