Dr. Gabor Takacs, Professor at the Petroleum Engineering Department chaired a session of the OMAE 2009 Conference in Honolulu, USA, May 31 – June 5, 2009. The 28th International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering was organized by the OOAE Division of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). The event promoted international cooperation in ocean, offshore and arctic engineering and presented a record number of papers, 725, in thirteen individual Symposia. SYMP-13 “Petroleum Technology” consisted of different sub-disciplinary sessions within the area of petroleum and mechanical engineering. The session “Description and Optimization of Well Performance” was chaired by Dr. Gabor Takacs, who was earlier responsible for soliciting, selecting of papers and organizing, finalizing the session.
