On November 21st and 23rd 2010 the PG senior students that are taking Petrophysics and Well logging course at the PI have visited the Schlumberger Middle East and Asia Learning Center, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The center is one the newest and largest world-class oilfield services training center in the world, together with three other global Schlumberger learning centers in USA, UK, and France. The students were given a tour around the centre which included visiting the facilities, and demonstrating the different well logging tools. Sonic, resistivity, density, porosity, and production tools were demonstrated and explained to the students during the tour. Afterwards, the students were exposed to real onsite measurements of the density, and neutron porosity tools as well as casing perforations. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures were emphasized and followed during the whole trip.
